Position: Student Counsellor

About the Role 

Our client, a well-established international education institution based in Colombo, is seeking a passionate and student-focused Student Counsellor to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding prospective and current students through their academic journey while ensuring an exceptional student experience.

Key Responsibilities 

• • Provide counselling and guidance to prospective students regarding academic programs, admissions, and career pathways.  

  • Support students throughout the enrollment and onboarding process.  

  • Conduct student consultations via walk-ins, calls, emails, and virtual meetings.  

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students and parents.  

  • Assist in achieving student recruitment and enrollment targets.  

  • Maintain accurate student records and update CRM systems regularly.  

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth admission and registration processes.  

  • Participate in education fairs, open days, and promotional events when required.  

  • Handle student inquiries and resolve concerns in a professional and timely manner.  

  • Stay updated on program offerings, policies, and industry trends.  

Requirements 

• • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology, Education, Marketing, or a related field.  

  • 3–4 years of experience in student counselling, academic advising, admissions, or customer-facing roles within the education industry.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

  • Strong presentation and relationship management abilities.  

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple student inquiries effectively.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.  

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.  

  • Prior experience in an international education environment will be an added advantage.
