The Legacy of Faika and Hamdoon

The Faika and Hamdoon Endowment for the Restoration of Sight was established by the family in loving memory of the late Haji Mohamed Hamdoon and Jennathul Faika Hamdoon of Thalapitiya, Galle. 

Haji Mohamed Hamdoon, a man of quiet strength and unwavering devotion to his family, was born on 09th January 1921. Throughout his life, he nurtured those around him with care and guidance, leaving an undeniable imprint on his family and community. Haji Mohamed Hamdoon passed away on 09th October 1998 after leading a fulfilling life marked by purpose, devotion, and integrity.

Jennathul Faika Hamdoon, a mother and grandmother who was the embodiment of warmth and grace, was born on 10th July 1930. She led a thriving and devoted life filled with kindness, resilience, and a remarkable gentle spirit until her passing on 03rd July 2013. 

Deeply rooted in a legacy of gratitude, respect, and resilience, the Endowment stands as a tribute to their lives, values, and enduring influence. Faika and Hamdoon were devoted sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, parents, and cherished grandparents, whose memory continues to inspire the mission and work of this Endowment.
